A staff member for the U.S. House Judiciary Committee said today that the deposition hearing scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23, for Karl Rove, the infamous former political adviser to President George W. Bush, is still on at this point. The Obama administration had sought a two week delay to weigh in on whether former Bush White House officials must testify before Congress about the politics involved in the firing of at least nine U.S. attorneys across the country, as well as the political prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman. For more, including the details of an investigative reporter’s allegations of a cover-up by the Obama White House in seeking a delay, read the full story in the progressive Locust Fork News-Journal run by investigative reporter and former New York Times free-lancer Glynn Wilson. 1. A quick blurb from the news: Karl Rove was due to appear for a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee today. But Rove was a no show. Days before leaving office, Bush’s White House counsel, Fred Fielding, sent letters to Rove, Miers, and Bolten, instructing them to continue to ignore congressional demands for information about anything they did while at the While House.

btw, Monday 02/23/09 was the third time Rove defied a
subpoena to appear before Congress. I think it’s well past time Rove got a lesson in the rule of law.

  2. the damn moron does not care about any LAWS!!! he missed the date with congress again!! now its up to the DEMS to make sure that they dont let this latest insult by Carly baby to go un noticed.. he would make a perfect GF for someone in Federal prison!!!!

  3. Richard Perle is trying to argue the neocons don’t exist therefore they can’t be blamed for anything. I,m waiting for Karl Rove to argue he doesn’t exist therefore he can’t give testimony.

  4. I think Perle means nobody will admit to being a neocon anymore. They’re probably sitting in a think tank as we speak deciding on a cute and cuddly name they can hijack.

    maybe pooddle puppies…… maybe smurfs….

yeah yeah, nobody can hate poodle puppies.
